Sorry for not updating, haha. So let's see.
My birthday was on the 25th of September, so a group of friends and I went out and ate shaved ice* and then watched a movie - Easy A.
It was a while ago, so my memory's a bit shaky, but I thought the movie wasn't too shabby. Emma Stone was pretty good; I'm slightly depressed that she didn't get the role of MJ in the upcoming Spiderman film. I am looking forward to Andrew Garfield though; he was great in The Social Network.
It's kind of weird for me to watch a movie that also takes place in the Silicon Valley; maybe it's just me, but they really romanticized the appeal of Palo Alto and the high-tech start-up industry in the area. Well, I liked the film. Is it weird to go to the movies alone? I went to the 10 AM matinee, and the only people there were a bunch of elderly couples. It was a bit awkward for me, to say the least.
School's been taking up most of my time, so it's difficult for me to find time to actually make crafts (although I would have more time if I didn't spend it watching The Big Bang Theory). I have, however, been drawing. :) I'm not really good at making clay objects without using molds - I tried to pipe icing onto a cake once, and it turned out disastrous. (o__o)
So, I have been drawing, writing letters, et cetera. I was going to write my friend a postcard, but as I sorted through my "collection", I realized that I didn't have any particularly adorable ones. So, what did I do? I drew my own and printed it out on 6x4 inch photo paper. Although it seemed just a teensy bit flimsy, to my surprise, it made it all the way to Boston safely. :)
It's a cupcake. :) I kind of struggled with the frosting, but I think it turned out okay. And I apologize for the watermark; I'm a bit paranoid. Printer ink is pretty expensive, so I made the background white, but I prefer it on a gray background though.
I actually do have a few photos to post, but I have seemed to have misplaced my camera, so we'll leave that for another day.
*Reminder to self - Coconut jelly, grass jelly, condensed milk, and red bean shaved ice is the best. :)
